The KISS policy

The KISS policy for life is to Keep It Simple, Stupid. (I got this from an interview with Ajith in a np). It sounds kweel, does'nt it. Well, we at times unnecessarily complicate things ,whereas keeping things simple can really save a lot of strain and pain.

These days i have been facing one 'difficult' question very frequently, that ' wat do u do these days' . Difficult, not because i dont know the answer but because i dont have an interesting answer, atleast that doesn't interest them, and because my answer would inadvertantly warrant a discourse on career, whoever the person may be. Thanx to many such questions , i have had the 'privilege' of hearing so many discourses on career, each with its own charecteristics. One thing common to all these ppl , however is that they seemed 'would-have-been' happy if i had said that i was working as a sw er. or atleast that i were working with the biggies like infy,... watever the capacity, did not seem matter to them.

I hate this charecter in these ppl, and for the same reason i also hate wat they like so much. And since they dont seem to understand i think i dont have any reprieve from listening to these discourses on 'career'.

For the past few days, np have been busy reporting the tension btwn cong and the left wrt the nuc deal. I jus wanted to point out one thing in this regard- The way newspapers very subtly and cunningly indulge in their own propagandism. For example, whereas The Hindu has been projecting the Left as a Champion of a national cause, the soveriegnity, The ET has been projecting the Left as a villain to National development. For the uninitiated and unsuspecting, these 'doctored' reporting could mean influencing ones reason and judgement to a very huge extent.

If u were a avid reader of The Hindu , u wld be made to believ that the nation was being run by the good hearted members of CPI(M) polit bureau, whereas if u were to believe ET u wld think the nation was being run by corporates. Ofcourse, they both r very careful not to make their inclinations too obvious, they pay lip service to the other point of view and lay claim to some crediblity. Both of them have, ofcourse, sustained on their strengths, Hindu's strength being a south indian paper with a pan-indian aspiration and ET's being economic fundamentals.
